"Marqués de Riscal has always been a pioneering company and a point of reference for the sector. In 1858 it had already become the first Rioja winery to make wines following the Bordeaux methods.
With over 160 years of history, Marqués de Riscal has been a pioneering driving force for Rioja being recognized on the international stage. In the first quarter of the 20th Century, Marqués de Riscal covered its bottles with a Golden net. This measure was taken to avoid falsifications. These wines show how well traditionally made Spanish Tempranillo can age."
