"La Closerie’s NV Champagne Grand Cru (2020), disgorged in October 2022 with a dosage of 2.5 grams per liter, has matured very well. A 50/50 blend of Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Pinot Noir from Puisieulx (purchased from another grower), it opens with a bouquet of red apple, dried flowers and toasted brioche. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, bright and precise and laden with racy acids, though marginally less concentrated than its successor. Still, it offers attractively saline finish of notable persistence."

"The NV Extra-Brut Grand Cru is a new wine in this range. Rich, deep and explosive, the Grand Cru possesses imposing structure and all the complexity to back it up. Orchard fruit, plum, spice, mint, dried flowers and a light touch of reduction all grace this translucent yet potent Champagne. The Grand Cru is equal parts Chardonnay (from Mesnil) and Pinot Noir (from Puisieulx) based on 2020, with 10% reserve wines from 2019. That blend will change in the future with the acquisition of four new parcels in Mesnil, an exciting development for what is to come. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: October, 2022."
