"The long cool 2023 growing season produced some of our raciest white wines. We now have 3 clones of Vermentino which really give this'23 a more serious complexity, depth and structure. As you know, we love how Vermentino performs in Dry Creek, regardless of the vintage. No malo-lactic fermentation to preserve it's live acidity.
Beginning in 2023, we use all of our clones of Vermentino, planted in 2004, 2010, 2017 and 2018. I doubt many if any other winery grows 3 clones of Vermentino. The young vines include a clone from Liguria, which provides more minerality and structure. 2023 was the latest we have ever harvested Vermentino, Sept 28-30, due to the cool weather in August and September. The result is a serious style of Vermentino with racy acidity, just how you and I like it."
