"Raised in 40% new oak like “Les Chambres,” the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumes (Rouge) is more sophisticated on the nose with bright wild strawberry and blackcurrant scents plus a touch of undergrowth. There is fine delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied with crunch red fruit and crisp acidity. This is quite sapid with a straightforward, linear finish. It doesn’t have the panache of the 2022, but should drink well for several years."
Jasper Morris,
"Attractive mid purple. A little torrefaction along with the concentrated red fruit. Slightly firm tannins at the moment but there is enough fruit to manage them with time Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Nov 2024."
