"The Block 23, despite bearing Michael Jordan's number, is becoming my favorite Shea Pinot Noir. The wine's blackberry and orange-flavored pipe tobacco aromas are a powerful lull for me, as are its tart red cherry, saline, black tea and molasses flavors. While its acidity is restrained, Block 23's grippy tannins provide some chewy entertainment."

"Long a mainstay in our small lot lineup, Block 23 comes from a 3-acre section of our vineyard that’s planted to 100% Pommard clone Pinot Noir. Soft and inviting aromatics of raspberry compote and dried flowers lead to a palate with lush red fruit, very soft and refined tannins, and a long, elegant finish. This wine embodies all of what makes Block 23 such a special place in our vineyard year after year."
