"A medium sweet Spätlese from the Rheingau icon Weil. This late-picked Riesling shows the ethereal clarity and power the variety can have. This wine is an assemblage of some of the estate's top vineyards blended with fruit from surrounding non-Grosse Lagen sites. It has charming aromatics, rich pear, Meyer lemon, and beguiling floral spice. The palate balances viscosity and ripeness with juicy, mouthwatering acidity. The lack of botrytis and the sterling minerality clarify this affordable bottling. The flavour of sweet peaches, honeyed apricots and lush, fleshy citrus are buoyed by a racy, edgy acidity that carries the finish."

"A very typical Rheingau riesling Spatlese with a wonderful freshness and vitality that, together with the racy acidity, beautifully counterbalances the touch of grape sweetness. Very grapey with as much wild berry fruit as white peach character. Long, zesty and creamy finish. From the Wasseros site of Kiedrich. Drink or hold. Screw cap."

"From the Wasseros, the 2022 Riesling Spätlese was picked about a week later than the Kabinett, which comes, more or less, from the same plots on phyllite slate soils with a good water supply. The Spätlese opens with intense, elegant and ripe yellow-colored fruit but is precise and fresh. On the palate, this is a savory, fleshy, textured, saline and highly stimulating Spätlese that already drinks beautifully (a bit of reduction is part of the style) and will age for decades. A gorgeous classic. 9% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine in August 2023."

"With a fragrant, juicy burst of apricot and lychee flavors, this is vibrant and inviting. Leans sweet and round but is reined in by a chalky mineral spine. A clean, radiant version, with lashings of bitter, pithy grapefruit acidity. Drink now through 2030. 670 cases made, 65 cases imported."

"A lush and juicy Riesling made from grapes that hang longer on the vine for greater ripeness and more intense flavors.  The estate-grown Rheingau Spätlese is made with the same exacting standards and meticulous attention to detail as the single-vineyard wines, and showcases Spätlese’s riper, richer style from late-picked fruit. It is sourced from parcels that neighbor the estate’s classified single-vineyard sites, but also includes pre-selection fruit from the top sites, which gives the wine an extra dimension of fruit and mineral intensity. The wine is a timeless Rheingau Spätlese, with lush fruit notes and high-spirited acidity gracefully balancing its natural sweetness."
