Scattered Peaks is a boutique winery that produces wines that are bold and powerful yet also elegant, showcasing strength and finesse.  Scattered Peaks was started by wine industry veteran Derek Benham and legendary winemaker Joel Aiken formerly of Beaulieu Vineyards.  They curate superior fruit from coveted vineyards through out Napa Valley to put an elevated spin on Napa Valley Cabernet.  Their winemaker is Steven Uberg who has over 25 years of winemaking experience and over 130 90+ point scores.  Their flagship Cab overdelivers in quality with an unwavering classic flavor profile and signature tannin structure.  2021 is a killer vintage.  The drought lowered yields and created a smaller more intense berry producing grapes packed with flavor.  Napa Cab doesn't get any better at the price.  The 2021 Scattered Peaks Cabernet Sauvignon is medium to full-bodied with intense black and and red fruit aromas.  Fine and velvety tannins and a touch of vanilla support the long, lingering finish.  Opulent and brooding fruit flavors of black cherry, blackberries and cassis mingle with black licorice, violets, cedar, walnut and dark cocoa notes.  This is a classic Napa Valley Cab that shows much promise and will age beautifully.  Enjoy!

"Blended with 14% Merlot and aged 18 months in (50% new) French oak, the newly released 2021 vintage is a teeth-grabber. Dusty cocoa tannins display an affinity with cedar, wet stone, blackberry, dried violets, and beetroot. Still in its youth, the wine shows much promise."

"Notes of blackberries, cassis, herbs, walnuts and toasted cedar. Medium- to full-bodied, dry and a little chewy with a dusty texture to its tannins. Needs more fruit concentration in the middle, yet it’s fresh and flavorful."
