"A remarkable Chianti classico riserva with deep blackberry, cassis, smoke and licorice notes plus a touch of pine forest. Concentrated and full-bodied, the compact fine tannins and lively acidity make this feel remarkably svelte for 14.5% alcohol. Very long finish that’s plush and bright. From a one-hectare property, therefore limited production. Drink or hold."

"The Vigna San Martino Chianti Classico is the project of oenologist Giampaolo Chiettini. Giampaolo spent many years working alongside Paolo De Marchi as winemaker at Isole e Olena, where he honed his skills as a winemaker and developed his love of Sangiovese. This is a personal and intimate project for him from a tiny vineyard in Argiano, part of the larger area of San Casciano Val di Pesa. Organically grown grapes, native yeast fermentations, a light hand in the cellar all coalesce to produce a Chianti Classico Riserva that rivals the best of the whole of Chianti."
