Winemaker Notes:
"The 2022 ‘1448’ has a deep dark purple color with bright youthful hues. The aromas lead with blue and black fruits, most notably boysenberry, blackberry, and dark raspberry. The bouquet features sweet caramel and vanilla scents along with those of baking spices, most notably cinnamon. The flavors are big and dense with plenty of savory concentrated ripe dark fruits framed by creamy toasted oak. The succulent fruit flavors flow into a deeply toasted oak background with a suggestion of mineral dust in the finish. Our house style is noted for mature tannins and this wine has enough to compliment a juicy steak with a peppercorn sauce, but not so much to prevent this wine from being enjoyable with a burger or pizza."
