The refined and intense flavors possess good if not special density along with a beguiling sense of underlying tension that carries over to the dusty, youthfully austere, compact and lingering finish. This is unusually powerful, if a bit less refined, compared to its usual understated character and overall, it is really quite impressive."

"After tasting the ethereal, medium-bodied 2021, the deep, saturated hue of the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale represents quite a contrast. Exhibiting aromas of sweet cherries, berries, plums and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and supple, with sweet powdery tannins and a concentrated core of fruit. This will reward a bit of patience."
