"Loma Alta, "tall hill" in Spanish is a parcel near the top of the Rinconada Vineyard. This rocky slope has northwestern exposure and excellent drainage. The combination of its weathered shaley loam soil, and the aspect of this parcel usually offers a broody and decidedly more introspective wine. Beautiful and expressive with aromas of red apples, and cinnamon with a fleshy core of blue fruit and elegant chalky tannins across the whole palate. The bright and accessible personality is on full display. This gorgeous wine is very versatile and can be enjoyed with lighter or richer dishes at the table."
