"An exotic and deeply pitched Pinot from the deep-end of Anderson Valley. This is a special barrel selection meant to showcase a forward, powerful side of the AVA.
Each barrel in our cellar is a unique creation, and we treat them as such. Each one represents a specific section or clone in a unique vineyard and also a unique fermentation. We do everything in very small lots and each fermentation is different. In 2021 we had 34 different Pinot ferments for example. Add to that, each one has unique barrel attributes: new, once-used, twice-used, or neutral. Not to mention the six different coopers we use and the endless variations of different forests, aging methods and toasting.
So this "Special Reserve" is really almost like a painting project where we selected a small subset of barrels to paint a very particular picture of Anderson Valley. We love it. We hope you do too."
