"A classic Old World nose starts with tar, leather and pencil shavings before cranberry and blackberry notes emerge. Mixed berries dominate the palate. Cherries, raspberries and more blackberries join with orange peel, savory black olives and thyme. Tannins are confident but relaxed, with punchy acid that lifts the fruit and results in length and depth."
Winemaker Notes:
"An intelligent and refreshing Merlot, somewhat out of the ordinary yet classically smooth and easy drinking. The tannins feel active and firm and hold tightly onto the opulent black fruit creating shape and balance. Acidity is taut and contributes a sensation of lightness and lift. An excellent match for roasted vegetables, gamey meats and dishes using sweet spices."
