"Dust and light herbs mix with baked plum on the nose of this blend to make for a very pleasant introduction. There's a decent texture on the palate, where dried mint, thyme and oregano flavors surround a boysenberry juiciness."
Winemaker Notes:
"The great majority of Hearst Ranch Wines are blended with deference to varietal heritage. Keeping Bordeaux with Bordeaux and Rhone with Rhone forms symbiotic bonds that are steeped in tradition. Randolph is an outlier in that the only directive, is to make a delicious wine without pretense. The 2019 Randolph is comprised of 6 different varietals, gleaning personality from each. There is plenty of vibrant, red fruit on both the nose and palate, with the latter riding upon a lush, velvety texture. A modest compliment of new oak adds some spicy depth while allowing the overall presentation to remain approachable and easy drinking. You will find this wine versatile in both food-pairing and as an aperitif. Enjoy now through 2026."
