"The 2019 Domaine des Cambes is bursting at the seams with super-ripe dark cherry, plum, espresso, licorice, menthol and chocolate. This rich, boisterous Blaye is full of energy. There's real depth and energy here, not to mention tons of character. Dried herb, leather, cedar and tobacco linger on the ample, beautifully textured finish. 2024 - 2034"
Winemaker Notes:
"This wine is made from a section of the Roc de Cambes vineyard that is only entitled to the straight Bordeaux appellation. A bit further south down the slope, creating a cooler terroir and clayey soil. In the past only 20% new oak was used but Francois Mitjavile now thinks that the quality of the fruit deserves 100% new Radoux blend barrels. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernets. Around 16000 bottles are produced from 6 hectares of vines."
Alcohol: 14.5%
