"The 2018 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo is exceptional, with a distinctively floral bouquet that sets it apart from most other red wines made on the volcano. Dried rose and lavender segue to wild berry, cassis, campfire ash and a touch of fragrant balsam herb. The Giuseppe Russo magic touch is the long, silky texture of his wines, and this expression, with fruit from the Contrada Feudo di Mezzo with 100-year-old vines at 670 meters in elevation, defies the difficulties of a challenging and rainy vintage. But Feudo di Mezzo is one of the best crus on the volcano. This 3,000-bottle release is poised for a long and enjoyable drinking window."

"Star anise, eucalyptus, toasted nut and wild berry aromas form the nose. Linear and racy, the medium-bodied palate opens with red cherry, spice and coffee bean before youthfully tight, drying tannins come out on the finish. Drink after 2023."
