"Beautifully polished and bright, the 2016 Notedincanto Brunello di Montalcino offers a textbook rendition from this stunning vintage. The wine fills the glass with a generous and full array of Sangiovese aromas. These range from wild fruit and dried cherry to tilled earth, cola and dried herb. On the plate the wine is warm and delicate with a beautifully high-toned dried cherry component. The finish is smooth with integrated tannins and balanced acidity. All the elements work harmoniously here and would be nicely accentuated by a Spaghetti alla Puttanesca or steak Fiorentina."
About the Wine:
"Notedincanto Brunello is a private, restaurant-only bottling made by the famed Tenuta di Sesta. When their US importer asked for a special, private label to be sold specifically to restaurants, they weren't expecting the pandemic to hit and were left with a surplus of bottles. This Brunello is from an iconic Montalcino producer, and is the same as their terrific Brunello, but priced so much better in order to be sold at restaurants. It's made as traditionally as it gets. This Brunello is excellent, classically styled and from a once-in-a-decade vintage."
