"Brilliant violet. Mineral-accented red and blue fruits on the perfumed nose, which is lifted by a building spicy element. Juicy and energetic for the vintage, offering sappy boysenberry and black raspberry flavors that are complemented by a hint of candied flowers. Sappy and precise on the impressively long, gently tannic finish, which emphatically repeats the blue fruit note."
Winemaker Notes:
"This wine has evolved over the 3 years of this young domaine. The first year, in 2014, the Fleurie Bel Air parcel was vinified, aged, and sold on its own. In 2015 Bel Air was vinified separately but in the end blended with 0.42 hectares of the Fleurie lieu-dit Sarcillon to make a general village wine. For the 2016 vintage, the Lafarges were able to increase their holdings to a full hectare of Sarcillon, but after Fleurie was subjected to two devastating hail storms in 2016, they were unable to make this cuvée."
